Puddles Pity Party: And now for something completely different

A seven foot clown named Puddles shows up in Scott Bradlee’s living room to sing a mesmerizing cover of Lorde’s Royals along with Scott’s band Postmodern Jukebox. The song has haunted me for days. Thought I’d share.

Bringing the past to life in St. Petersburg

Next time you’re walking down the street, just imagine the history that has transpired beneath your feet. And if you can’t, photographer Sergei Larenkov has an erriely facinating Photoshop technique to help.

He took photos of what appears to be St. Petersburg during WWII and superimposed contemporary photos from the same angles. The result is a haunting collection of photos posted on the Fima Psuchopadt blog.

I would like to see this technique applied to other cities (like London or Berlin), great historical moments, crime scenes, or famous landmarks. Thanks to Fima Psuchopadt for his post in Russian and to Warren Ellis for posting them in English.
